SecureKeyExchange Property

Return the key exchange algorithm used to establish the secure connection with the server.

Syntax

object.SecureKeyExchange

Remarks

The SecureKeyExchange property returns an integer value which identifies the key-exchange algorithm used when establishing a secure connection. This property may return one of the following values:

Value Constant Description
0 stKeyExchangeNone No key exchange algorithm has been selected. This is not a secure connection with the server.
1 stKeyExchangeRSA The RSA public key exchange algorithm has been selected.
2 stKeyExchangeKEA The KEA public key exchange algorithm has been selected. This is an improved version of the Diffie-Hellman public key algorithm.
4 stKeyExchangeDH The Diffie-Hellman public key exchange algorithm has been selected.
8 stKeyExchangeECDH The Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman key exchange algorithm was selected. This is a variant of the Diffie-Hellman algorithm which uses elliptic curve cryptography. This key exchange algorithm is only supported on Windows XP SP3 and later versions of the operating system.

If a secure connection has not been established, this property will return a value of zero.
